Iridescent Fate
The individual stared somberly out onto the Hedneor Peaks from the clutches of the Colguca Jungle. He had watched the three individuals leave Calmaren for the mountains; judging by the new roar that shook the heavens itself echoing across the land, one of them had succeeded in their goal. A new beast had been born from the Heart, and in keeping with the vow he had made centuries prior, he would kill it. He pulled out his sword, recently forged and gleaming with inlaid platinum, and laid it on the silver bowstring. He pulled the bow back, took aim at the range of mountains, and released.
The Price of Experience
“Yeah, because that makes it easier for us to forget them when they die. I know, and I’m not a fan. That’s why I made it a point to learn theirs. You put me in charge of Team S-SE, and I took responsibility for their lives, and the lives of everyone in that region. I’d be dishonoring them to not even know their names.”

A Wish Fulfilled
I have not seen the sun since I made that wish, and not once have I felt hunger nor thirst. I continue my journey. I cannot say exactly how long I have been walking, but I know that I am slowly covering the entirety of the planet with my trail. And in that time I can be content with the knowledge that I have never once seen another living human. And I can only wish for that solitude to continue.
But A Moment
I stood shocked, hardly breathing as the last droplet of water landed upon the ground and the images faded. Slowly, I collapsed to my knees, tears leaking out of my eyes at the thought of the amount of life I had just seen lost. Eventually I struggled to my feet and returned to the boat, refusing to inform the fisherman of what I had seen.
What Once was Lost
And wouldn’t it be sweet when I threw it all back in their faces? A year of torment means quite a lot to someone like me, and I wouldn’t be so quick to forgive and forget. No, much better to let them all squirm, like maggots in a bucket, to get back into my good graces so that I share with them the glory of my next big find.
Wanderer of the Storm
And so, this cycle continued. He wandered for an eternity at a time, desperately searching for that drink that would relieve his parched throat, albeit briefly. But as time went on, even when he found his way into a new tavern, the drinks stopped coming. He found his pockets empty of any money, and his hands empty of any drink.
Two Lefts Don't Make a Right
Alex dove out of the way, rolling down the hill towards the river as the SUV slammed into the back of his own car, sending his dingy little sedan spinning down the hill after him. By some sheer stroke of luck, his car avoided him, sinking into the murky depths of the river as Alex cowered in the grass with his hands over his head, making himself as small as possible to hopefully avoid any other debris.
The Probability of Luck
I find myself at the bar. The tip has been correct thus far, which means I will be able to find him at 6:30 at the stadium. In the meantime though, a shot of whisky sounds great. And to be quite honest, I haven’t managed any celebration yet today. Sure, no one else is celebrating reset day anymore due to the bomb attack and the wave, but I know that I didn’t save my luck all year for nothing, since the tip seems to be correct.
Through Blood, Divided
“I know. Isn’t it such a sublime experience? Living your life in the same loop over and over and over again, repeating the same thoughts and actions, believing every time that things will end differently? I certainly can’t wait to see how this place out next loop!”
A Game of Desires
Realizing that she had almost stood up from her chair in her outburst, Josephine relaxed, a bit sheepishly. How can he remain calm in this situation? He knows as well as I do that if I had continued and stood up without thinking, then the game would have been his victory. Breathing deeply, Josephine looked into her uncle’s eyes, searching for any trace of what he might be thinking in his amber irises. It’s no use. I can’t get a read on what he’s thinking. Hell, I didn’t even know he existed before today.
The Dimension of Dust
A giant spider creeps around the corner that has just appeared behind me, too large to fit within the confines of the passageway, one half of its legs splayed upwards onto the wall, dragging toward me at the pace of a man trying not to be late to a meeting.
Cats and Mouse
The group of townsfolk all trudged in unison towards the town center. It would look to anyone viewing the town from an overhead position as if lines of ants were crawling to the center of their nest, traveling well-worn paths. Looking closer, the townsfolk all began to arrive at their destination, aligning themselves into ranks and standing to attention.
